A family recipe for over three generations! In some Peranakan households, this is also known as 'Sambal Kering'. Sambal Kering or Sambal Tumis is a very versatile, ready-to-eat paste that has just the right balance of a fiery sweet and spicy taste and a tinge of sourness.
Use Agak Agak Nyonya Sambal Tumis as the base to cook all sorts of Malaysian dishes such as Sambal Petai, Sambal Ikan Bilis, Sambal Udang, Sambal Telur, or stir fry with any kind of vegetables, rice, noodles, even pasta. You can use this as a condiment or a dip too. This fiery sambal will leave you wanting more!

Onions, Palm Oil, Dried Chilli, Sugar, Salt, Dried Shrimp Paste, Garlic, Tamarind and Contains Permitted Flavour Enhancer (Monosodium L-Glutamate). May Contain: Crustaceans, Soya and Nuts.
🍞🍚🍤 How to Eat:
Rice: A dollop of this on a plate of coconut rice, sprinkled with some fried anchovies and nuts, you get yourself your very own Nasi Lemak.
Bread: Spread this on bread, sprinkled with some fried anchovies, and a slice of hard boiled egg, garnished with cucumber.
Celup (Dip): Use it as a condiment or a dip.
Everything else: Use this as a base to cook all sorts of Malaysian dishes such as Sambal Petai, Sambal Ikan Bilis, Sambal Udang, Sambal telur, or stir fry with any kind of vegetables, rice, noodles, even pasta!
🔪 Prep for Prawn Sambal with Bitter Beans:
- Handful of prawns
- Handful of bitter beans
- Water
🍳 Cooking Instructions for Prawn Sambal with Bitter Beans:
Saute Agak-Agak Nyonya Sambal Tumis Paste with the above ingredients for 5 minutes.
Add prawns into the wok and stir until the prawns are cooked. Add water to liking.
Add in bitter beans and mix well.
Add salt and sugar to taste.
Turn off the gas and ready to serve.

Tambahkan sikit sambal ni kat atas sepinggan nasi lemak, taburkan ikan bilis goreng dan kacang, dan voila, kau dah ada nasi lemak sendiri.
Lapiskan sambal ni atas roti, tabur sikit ikan bilis goreng, dan sekeping telur rebus, hias dengan timun.
Guna je sebagai sos tambahan atau cecahan.
Gunakan sambal ni sebagai asas untuk masak pelbagai hidangan seperti Sambal Petai, Sambal Ikan Bilis, Sambal Udang, Sambal Telur, atau goreng dengan apa-apa jenis sayur, nasi, mee, malah pasta pun boleh!

- Segenggam petai yang dikupas

🍳 Cara Memasak Sambal Petai Udang:
Tumis Pes Sambal Tumis Agak-Agak Nyonya selama 1 minit di dalam kuali.
Tambahkan udang ke dalam kuali dan kacau sehingga udang masak. Masukkan sedikit air mengikut citarasa.
Masukkan petai dan kacau hingga sebati selama beberapa minit.
Tambah garam dan gula secukup rasa.
